I’m Miriam, I get great fulfillment from helping others believe in themselves and accomplish great things. Sometimes that means writing empowering children’s books, and other times it means working with new authors to publish their books. Seeing the “Aha!” moment in someone’s life is what I live for!
So, how did I get here?
In 2012, on the flight home from a Transformational Retreat taught by Jack Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul™ books and The Success Principles™, I wrote the first draft of my first children’s book, I CAN Believe in Myself. I set a goal to empower 100,000 children to believe in themselves.
This goal scared me. I didn’t know how I was going to accomplish it, but I was determined.
Then, on May 7th, 2014 I set the Guinness World Record™ for “The Largest Online Book Discussion in a 24 Hour Period”. This meant that thousands of children from over 29 countries around the world read a copy of I CAN Believe in Myself and left a comment on our blog about what they CAN do – all within 24 hours!
I had achieved my goal of empowering over 100,000 children with my first book. Me! I had never planned on being an author. I studied business in college. But, I had discovered something I was extremely passionate about, and I poured my efforts into it.
I CAN Believe in Myself was just the beginning:
That’s when I realized that I wanted more.
You see, I knew that if I stuck to writing and publishing my own books, I could produce maybe one per year. But, if I help other people publish their books, together we could empower so many more children!
That’s one thing I was learning as I shared my books at schools and with children. Parents, teachers, grandparents, entrepreneurs - they all had wonderful ideas and messages that they wanted to share. Powerful messages! Beautiful stories that the world needs. They just didn’t know how, and the idea of self-publishing was overwhelming.
I completely understand that difficulty! When I decided to write in 2012, I would have given anything to have someone show me the way. Now, with my experience in the self-publishing and traditional publishing world, I could be that guide for others.
I founded my own hybrid publishing company, Miriam Laundry Publishing, in 2020 (yes, that’s right, in the middle of a pandemic) and the response was overwhelming. Since then, we’ve published over 50 children’s books, many of which received bestselling status.
As a mother who started out just wanting to make a difference in my children's lives, I ended up becoming an author and publishing CEO. More than that, I was able to impact hundreds of thousands of lives. I want to share my secrets with you. *Here’s a hint: the most important secret is establishing an unshakable author mindset!*

If you prefer to land in the USA, Buffalo is only a 45 minute drive from the hotel across the US-Canada border. If you prefer to land in Canada, Toronto or Hamilton Airport are the closest options.
Once you purchase your ticket, you’ll also be added to the private “Believe LIVE” Facebook group, where you can meet fellow guests to coordinate flights, shared rides, and other details.
We will be serving healthy lunches on Day 1 and Day 2 of the event, as well as a celebratory dinner on Day 2. Water, beverages, and light refreshments will be provided throughout the event sessions. Additionally, the venue, White Oaks, does offer a wide spread of meals and other foods, if you’re interested in purchasing additional snacks.
Breakfast and dinner Day 1 will be on your own. There are many wonderful restaurants for dinner in the area! We encourage you to meet new friends at the event and dine with them!
Attendees are encouraged to wear what makes them feel best and most comfortable! Photos and videos will be taken throughout the event. For the VIP reception, wear what makes you feel alive! There will also be a final “Come As You’ll Be” party on Saturday night, so bring at least one outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks.
Please note: many of the activities will be interactive. Make sure you feel comfortable so you can focus on getting the most out of this event!
Each attendee will be provided with some note-taking materials. However, if you have a specific manner of brainstorming, please bring writing utensils, your laptop, or a journal.
