Sue Gelderman

Sue Gelderman is a mom and grandmother who recently welcomed her very first great-grandson. She was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa, and in 1965, she got married and moved to the Chicago area, where she raised her three children. She went to work in 1975 for Warner Lambert Company/Pfizer as a Customer Service Representative, and after several promotions, she became the Manager of the group until she retired in 2000.

After retiring, Sue began focusing on more creative endeavors. She has loved drawing since her early school days, so now with more free time, she began her new career as an artist. Working across all mediums, she fell in love with pastels, acrylics, and colored pencils. In 2018, a move to an apartment in downtown Chicago allowed her to fulfill a lifelong dream—enrolling in classes at the Art Institute. Her first class was “Illustrating Children’s Books,” and she had already written several rhyming verses that she thought would make incredible picture books for kids. Combining these two passions has resulted in her very first

authored and illustrated book, A Special Me.
