Armida Espinoza is a retired bilingual elementary school teacher and author of Brave Lolis Learns English/La Valiente Lolis Aprende Inglés, recipient of the 2023 International Latino Book Award. As a first-generation Mexican-American, Armida writes stories that encourage children to find their voice and manifest their strength and value to the world.
Armida currently lives in Fresno, California, with her husband and three furry friends, Luna, a boy named Sue, and Cutie Boy.
