Benilda Salvador
Benilda Salvador is a proud grandmother and now a children’s book author. After 32 years of service at the United Nations in New York, she was inspired to pursue a lifelong dream—becoming a published author. That spark came with the birth of Benilda’s first granddaughter, Malaya Lael, whose joyful spirit, hearty laughter, and disarming smile were the inspiration for this book.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a global community of children’s book creators.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Benilda now lives in New Jersey, where she loves reading and singing to Malaya in both English and Filipino, and serving with her family at a local church.
