Barbara Ann Elder was born in Jamaica, and currently resides in Orlando, FL, near her two precious grandchildren.
A former teacher and high school principal, Barbara earned her B.A. (Hons.) degree in French and Spanish, with a major in Linguistics. She also holds a diploma in Writing for Children and Teens from the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut and is a member of the Professional Writers’ Alliance (PWA).
Writing has always been her passion, and she has been writing stories, poems, and plays since she was eight years old. Barbara seeks to inspire and empower kids to believe in themselves, and to overcome difficulties through grit and determination. She has now found her ideal inspiration in her spunky grandchildren, whose endless adventures seem tailor-made for kids’ stories.
