Alanna Albano grew up in New Jersey and is the oldest of five siblings. She often volunteered to care for children with various special needs, and she eventually pursued medical school and studied to become a pediatrician. After living and working in different states, she eventually settled in the Columbus area of Ohio. Alanna enjoys horseback riding, baking, collecting cute things, and spending time with her dog, Sammie, and her cat, Pumpkin. "Sammie and Pumpkin" is her first children’s book.
