You Deserve a Publisher You Can Trust

At Miriam Laundry Publishing, our hybrid model gives you the support of a professional team — without giving up your rights to your book. Learn more about how our high standards, selective process, and author-first approach make us different from other publishing options.

But first, here’s the hard truth

Not All Hybrid Publishers Are Created Equal

If you’ve spent any time researching hybrid publishing, you’ve likely seen the mixed reviews, horror stories, and warnings.

Unfortunately, some companies in this space overpromise and underdeliver — charging high fees without providing professional support or quality results.

That’s why it’s normal to feel cautious.

You’re investing your time, your money, and most importantly – taking a bold step towards pursuing your dream.

You deserve to know exactly what you’re signing up for — and to feel confident you’re working with a team that truly has your back.

At Miriam Laundry Publishing, we built our hybrid model differently. It’s rooted in integrity, guided by professional standards, and designed to empower you every step of the way.

We’d love to share a bit more about our approach…

What Is Hybrid Publishing?

Hybrid Publishing (n).

Hybrid publishing is a way to publish your book with the help of a trusted, professional publishing team by your side.

It’s a strong option so you don’t have to figure out publishing on your own. And you don’t have to jump through the hoops of traditional publishing.

Some hybrid publishers buy the rights to your book in addition to charging an up front fee. These publishers typically pay higher than industry standard royalties.

In other instances, you keep the rights to your book. This means you don’t earn royalties, but you earn the full sale of your book every time it sells.

Because not all hybrid publishing is the same, we strongly recommend you do your due diligence & make sure you know exactly what you're getting when you sign your hybrid publishing contract.

Bottom Line:

It’s a good fit if you care about quality, want support from people who know what they’re doing, and are excited to bring your book to life the right way – especially if you can find a hybrid publisher that allows you to keep the rights to your book. (Hint: the Miriam Laundry Publishing team does just that!)

The Truth Is, There Are Many Ways To Publish A Book:

However, not all offer the same level of care, quality, and support. Here’s a quick look at your options…

Traditional Publishing

Submit and wait — if accepted, they handle it all but own most of it.
  • Long wait times and high rejection rates
  • Publisher owns the rights
  • Limited creative control
  • No upfront costs
  • Experienced editorial and design team
  • Lower royalties
Best for authors willing to wait and hand over control.
Vanity Press

You pay to publish, but quality and support are often lacking.
  • Easy to get accepted—they publish anything
  • Often poor editing and design
  • Limited transparency
  • High fees with unclear results
  • Little to no marketing support
Often not the best long-term investment for serious authors.
Self Publishing
Through Children’s Book Masterclass

You do it all yourself — or hire freelancers to help.

  • Full ownership and control
  • Choose your own timeline
  • You find and hire your own team to support you
  • You manage Marketing & Distribution on your own
Best for authors who want independence and have time to manage every step.

Hybrid Publishing Through Publishing Mastermind

You invest in professional support — while keeping full ownership and creative control.

  • You keep your rights
  • High-quality editing, design, and printing
  • A supportive, experienced publishing team
  • Transparent, all-in-one pricing
  • Marketing and launch guidance
  • You’re involved, but you’re not alone
Best for authors who want a professional book—with a trusted team by their side.

Still Have Questions? We’ve Got Answers.

Is it okay to pay a publisher to publish my book?

Yes — when you know what you’re paying for. In hybrid publishing, you’re investing in professional services like editing, design, printing, and launch support. You may keep full ownership and receive a high-quality book in return. That said, be wary of companies that are not clear on what their terms are, that may misrepresent themselves as a traditional publisher at first, or gain the rights to your book in addition to charging an up front fee.

How is hybrid publishing different from a vanity press?

We’re selective about what we publish, and we’re deeply committed to quality. Vanity presses will often accept any manuscript and provide minimal support. At Miriam Laundry Publishing, we only publish books that meet our standards, and we walk with you every step of the way to ensure your book is the best it can be.

Do I keep the rights to my book?

Yes! You keep full ownership of your story, your characters, and your message. Always.

What kind of support will I get?

It depends on the program you choose. In Publishing Mastermind, we offer one-on-one coaching, a dedicated publishing manager, and full-service support from our expert team. In Children’s Book Masterclass, you’ll get a self-paced course with tools, templates, and access to a supportive community.

How do I know Miriam Laundry Publishing is legit?

We understand your hesitation. That’s exactly why we created this page — to be transparent about what we offer and how we work. We’ve helped hundreds of authors publish books they’re proud of, and we’d be honored to support you, too. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
