5 Ways to Stay Motivated

Staying motivated can be hard if you're still searching for inspiration. I have my fair share of days when pursuing my goals is the last thing I want to do.

But whether we choose to push past those stale moments or let them take over is what marks the difference between a successful thinker and a wishful thinker.

That’s why I'm sharing 5 practical strategies you can use to keep the momentum going.

1. Remember your WHY -- pinpoint exactly WHY you’re chasing your goals. What was the main reason you decided to set this goal for yourself? What are the consequences of you not completing this goal?

In 2013, I set my goal of empowering 100,000 children with the I CAN story because I wanted to see a large number of children believe in themselves and know that they are capable. It was not only for me, but for my family and friends as well.

If I lost sight of that goal and stopped pursuing it, 100,000 children would’ve missed out on the chance to believe in themselves and I never would’ve discovered my passion for encouraging those around me.

When you remember your WHY, you remember the reason you started it all. That will motivate you to move forward, even when the journey feels bland.

2. Believe you CAN -- if you don’t believe in yourself, you’ll never try. But if you believe in yourself, you’ll try and try again until you finally achieve your goal. When you feel like giving up, remind yourself that you CAN do it as long as you keep trying.

3. Make the journey exciting -- find ways you can make the road toward your goal fun and exciting. Maybe this means giving yourself little rewards along the way or sharing your progress with friends and family. It’s a lot easier to pursue a goal if you have fun doing it than if it feels like a chore.

4. Find an Accountability Partner -- In short, accountability partners are people whose main purpose is to remind you of your goals and hold you accountable to them. You can learn more about accountability partners HERE.

5. Learn -- By reading this, you're already one step ahead. Right now, you're taking the initiative to learn more so you can make informed & confident decisions down the road. The more you learn, the easier the journey becomes.
